Festival Award Shortlisting

Pirate Technics have made the shortlist for the Extra-Festival Activity Award in the 2011 Festival Awards.

The award is described as follows:

Music is a vital element of any successful festival, but it's often the "extras", such as pop-up performances and mass participation games which fill heads and cameras with memories which last a lifetime. There are so many wonderful creative elements at festivals, but which one was the best?

Unfortunately, this is a jury-decided award. So if any of the judges out there are reading this, then I'm sure we've got some gold doubloons that could sway your opinion...

Southbank Urban Fox Re-Housed

Breaking News!

The urban fox on the Southbank has had enough of London life. It's been too high paced for him and he needs to take some time out.

Make sure you get down to see it before Wednesday 5th October, because afterwards he will be moving to a secret location...

Festival Season Ends for the Pirates

The Green Man festival was a truly brilliant weekend, all that sun in Wales! Who'd have thought it? The man stood tall and solid, casually leaning on a giant tree stump. By the end of the weekend the grotto inside was positively rustling with wishes added by the festival goers. Some of the highlights included: 'I wish i was a massive otter' and 'I wish the green man was MY man'

A beautiful burn followed with amazing fireworks by Two Tigers and the collapse which couldn't have been at a more perfect moment!

Closely followed by Shambala festival, with few clean clothes left we continued our journey to that crazy carnival world. The light house sat serenely on the water with flags fluttering gently in the breeze. The inside housed a giant kaleidoscope of spinning colours. At night it was a beacon shining across the site. What a great party to end our summer.

Great seeing and meeting you all along the way! Arrrggghh!

Pirate Technics at The Secret Garden Party Festival 2011!

The Pirates returned to SGP this year to bring you 'Meganeura' - the giant dragonfly stage floating on the lake. With a high arching tail towering over the water and 30m wingspan she stood proud, fire spewing from her head and dazzling lasers projecting from her eyes. Never to be seen in the flesh again, she took her final flight into the fire when darkness fell on Saturday night.

See you all for Green Man Festival in a couple of weeks - can't wait! x

Glade Festival 2011

It's been a week since Pirate Technics returned from Glade Festival 2011 at it's new site in Norfolk.

We all had a great time in a beautiful location.

Our 7m white pyramid stood tall and imposing in the main field. For the first time our sculpture was video mapped at night with amazing results.
