Balloon Launch for UKTVs Channel W

Pyrite Creative braved the cold to set up an early morning balloon launch for UKTVs re-brand of channel Watch to W on the Southbank in London.
We built them a 4.5m tall W and had non other than Sophie Ellis-Bextor start the release! There's even a chance to win an actual diamond if anyone finds a balloon!

Wicksteed Park Dragon Bonfire

Wicksteed Park already have a fantastic choreographed firework display by MLE Pyrotechnics and this year the park asked Pirate Technics to sculpt their bonfire too.

We built them a huge dragon from pallets and old timber. Well done all Pirates who braved the torrential rain to create this epic beast!

The Love-Bot Demands Bestival Love!

For Bestival on the Isle of Wight this year, Shipshape Arts designed and built the Love-Bot. A 7m tall colossus that towered above the crowd. The story was as follows:

"The Lovebot needs love for his energy, without it he rests in limbo - full of angst and worry, with his joints gradually rusting together and his internal batteries slowly running down... all he needs to come alive is someone to show him some love!"

He had animated eyes, lights, turning key and smoke from his ears. The more love he was shown, the more animated he became!

If you are walking through Nottingham Market Square and wonder where our sweepers sculptures have gone, they have been relocated to Nottingham Castle where hopefully they will receive less abuse from Stag-Dos!
